Spirit of Success

The Illinois Heart & Lung Foundation’s Nursing Scholarship Program awards education grants annually to non-traditional nursing students in our community.

Gale Keeran Memorial Nursing Scholarship

SoS-01The Spirit of Success Gale Keeran Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a Heartland Community College Non-Traditional Nursing Student. Students may apply for this scholarship beginning December. We will award the first recipient in September 2013.

Gale Keeran was involved in many projects that helped make Bloomington/Normal a better place to live. Her untimely death left a void in our community. The establishment of this scholarship encourages others to continue Gales’ vision of a better community.

Gale demonstrated the highest level of professional excellence in her work with OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, The Eureka Co. and as Chair of the Bloomington Cultural District. The Gale Keeran Nursing Scholarship will be presented to a nursing student at Heartland Community College who embodies the spirit, energy and enthusiasm in making our community a better place to live.
