We had yet another successful Stayin’ Alive Defibrillator Drive on Saturday August 26th! An evening of fun, dinner, and donations enabled us to meet our fundraising goal!

We are so appreciative of all those who attended the event, generously donated items to our live and silent auction, jewelry raffle, and wine and bourbon pull, and our amazing Stayin’ Alive Committee members!

This year, we are raising funds that will target the cardiac safety of area youths by donating defibrillators to local youth activity centers, sports fields, and McLean County schools. This event is the sole fundraiser for the IHLF, and 100% of our proceeds go towards purchasing AEDs in McLean County.

Kai Bates-Diop recovers with the help of his trainer after being revived by an AED.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest can happen to anyone — even our children. The Bates-Diop family was gracious enough to share their story of survival. Kai Bates-Diop, a 16-year old athlete at University High School, had a life-threatening incident in which his heart stopped beating during basketball practice last February. An on-site AED was used to restart Kai’s heart and save his life.

Please check back soon to see our photo gallery of the evening and see our exciting announcements regarding our AED donations to our local area youth.
